CONNECTIONS: Exploring Heritage, Architecture, Cities, Art, Media International conference held at the University of Kent organized by AMPS, Canterbury, UK / June 2020

My virtual presentation titled ReImagining the Past: Immersive Visit to Al-Jazirah Al-Hamra presented the research work developed in the framework of the EFRG grant from AUS University. Together with my CO-PI prof. Sohail Dahdal a range of prototypes has been tested exploring the modes of presentation using AR/VR technologies to tell the stories about sites of cultural heritage related to the Al Jazirah Al Hamra (The Red Islan) in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. The results of this research and excerpts of the VR prototypes are presented in the format of an experimental documentary.

International Art Colony Pocitelj (47) July 14-22

The International Art Colony Pocitelj was established in 1964. The Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner and founder of the Art Colony Pocitelj. Within the scope of its work, the Colony gathers artists from the whole country as well as from all over the world. In the area of an extraordinary beauty, miraculous environment and non-everyday creative atmosphere, the artists-painters, sculptors and print-makers get together, exchange experiences and make contacts.

The Colony had been devastated during the war (1992-1995), but with great efforts of the AVAB&H and understanding of the Government of the Federation of B&H it was renewed in 2003. Every first Sunday in the month of June artists and devotee of Pocitelj gather in the Colony Pocitelj at the traditional manifestation ”Cherry Sunday”. Throughout the year the Association organizes working colonies, which is of a great interest to the artists from all over the world.

Color grading software/hardware solution || Blackmagic design Da Vinci Resolve

I have attended a presentation of the newly developed film/video color grading system today in Dubai Media City. The event was organized by UAE MediaCast distributor of Blackmagic Design products.

Overall, the performance is quite impressive. System completely relies on the GPU processing power and is developed to use CUDA instructions of the Nvidia graphics cards.

Da Vinci has a GO!
