After the March madness Tashkeel is preparing exciting new events and workshops!
We look forward to see you again at Tashkeel for the meet the artist night that we are planning to have on Monday 30 April at 7 pm for the finissage night of Mawtini exhibition.
Meet the artist nights are informal meetings where you get to discuss your work with artists and Tashkeel members and friends in a casual atmosphere.
A good exercise to talk about your work and also a good chance to network and chat.
All guests are welcome.

“Home, the spot of earth supremely blest, a dearer, sweeter spot than all the rest” – Robert Montgomery
We are living in an increasingly complex world in which barriers and borders are being broken down and where conventional concepts of “homeland” and “belonging” are being challenged. This is of particular relevance in the United Arab Emirates, where almost 80% of the population is living away from their so-called home country, and yet for so many of these people, this is truly “home”.

To mark the occasion of March 1st, the independence day of Bosnia and Herzegovina, a group exhibition by the artists who took part in the 47th session of the Artist Residence program in Pocitelj (June 2011) opened in the Gallery Roman Petrovic in Sarajevo. It is organized by the Society of Fine Artists in Bosnia and Herzegovina and will continue to tour in BiH.
As an accredited film professional @ SFF I had an opportunity to see Panorama program films curated by Howard Feinstein, film critic and its programmer. This time around he prepared a special tribute to Lucrecia Martel (Argentina) and presented a selection of her beautiful film works. Specially organized Q&A sessions enabled for an open conversation and friendly suggestions/recommendations by the filmmaker herself to the Sarajevo audience in the Meeting Point Cinema.
The International Art Colony Pocitelj was established in 1964. The Association of Visual Artists of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the owner and founder of the Art Colony Pocitelj. Within the scope of its work, the Colony gathers artists from the whole country as well as from all over the world. In the area of an extraordinary beauty, miraculous environment and non-everyday creative atmosphere, the artists-painters, sculptors and print-makers get together, exchange experiences and make contacts.
The Colony had been devastated during the war (1992-1995), but with great efforts of the AVAB&H and understanding of the Government of the Federation of B&H it was renewed in 2003. Every first Sunday in the month of June artists and devotee of Pocitelj gather in the Colony Pocitelj at the traditional manifestation ”Cherry Sunday”. Throughout the year the Association organizes working colonies, which is of a great interest to the artists from all over the world.
